Sapere was commissioned by the Ministry of Health to undertake an independent review of the system of third party accreditation of Designated Auditing Agencies of aged residential care providers who are subject to the certification requirements of the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001.

The purpose of the review was to assess the effectiveness of the two third party accreditation bodies currently approved by the Ministry, explore differences in their approach to determinations and ensure the Ministry’s approach in retaining the two third party bodies can be satisfied.
