Eric is a PhD economist and experienced business executive who provides advice on a wide range of commercial, market development, infrastructure and industry governance and regulatory matters. He is an expert in digital auction platforms / trading markets and brings wider business experience ranging from startup companies to international organisations. Eric has provided expert testimony to the NZ Commerce Commission and Australian National Competition Council.

Prior to joining Sapere, Eric was CEO of Global Dairy Trade, the world’s pre-eminent B2B price discovery auction platform. His deep market development experience includes a startup aimed at broadband and emissions trading, and as chief economist and head of market development at the NZ wholesale electricity market.

Eric also brings corporate experience from his time at Fonterra and public sector experience from roles at Treasury and the Reserve Bank.
