Sapere Research Group is delighted to welcome Dr Veronica Jacobsen as a Director, to our growing Wellington team.

Veronica recently stepped down from a distinguished career in the NZ public service, most recently as Policy Director at the Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment (MBIE). She has previously held senior roles at the NZ Treasury, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Science and Innovation and Arthur Anderson Business Consulting.
According to David Moore, Managing Director of Sapere, “We are excited to have a senior economist with a specialism in law and economics, and with deep policy experience, join the team here at Sapere.”

With a background in both Law and Economics, Veronica is looking forward to bringing a multidisciplinary lens to getting to the bottom of tricky issues and providing clear, practical advice that can drive change and achieve results.

Veronica holds a DPhil (Economics), M SocSc (Economics), and LLB from the University of Waikato and a B SocSc (Economics) from Massey University. She is a former Chair of the New Zealand Government Economics Network and past President and life member of the Law and Economics Association of New Zealand.
