Connor has experience leading analysis and advice on various economic and policy issues. He spent a few years in macroeconomic forecasting, where he held responsibility for the economic analysis and forecasting of most domestic sectors. These included household spending, labour market, migration, inflation and housing. He’s also spent a few years on policy, where he worked on advice covering government fiscal strategy, public balance sheet management and central bank governance.
Connor’s work focuses on solving complex problems. To do that, he makes use of high-quality evidence, whether that’s qualitative or quantitative data, and he goes beyond traditional economic frameworks when the problem requires it. His work often focuses on synthesising complex information and using it to inform others, from decision makers to the public. In doing so, he has authored various pieces of government advice and published work such as fortnightly economic updates and a flagship strategic policy document.
