Sapere Forensic expands team with international appointment
August 2020 – Sapere Forensic welcomes James Searby to our Australian practice.
James has extensive experience assessing complex damages in high-value international arbitration and litigation cases, including alleged expropriation, breach of contract, patent infringement and shareholder disputes. He has previously worked for LECG and FTI Consulting, where he led their International Arbitration practice in the Asia Pacific region based in Singapore, in addition to leadership roles in EMEA and North America.
Sapere Forensic Managing Director Tony Samuel is delighted to have James joining the team. “James brings his international forensic economic experience to our well-established team, and will add considerable value and support for our clients, in both domestic and international disputes”.
James has acted as an instructor at the International Dispute Settlement programme at the University of Geneva, and as an expert witness at training workshops organised by the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy. He holds an MBA from Imperial College at the University of London and a BA in Modern History and Economics from the University of Oxford. He has also been awarded Charterholder status by the CFA Institute and is one of the editors of the Journal of Damages in International Arbitration.
James will be a director in our Melbourne office. He presently divides his time between Washington, DC and Australia.
