Sapere was commissioned by the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment to evaluate the New Zealand Screen Production Grant (NZSPG) for domestic and international productions. We assessed the economic and cultural impacts of the NZSPG, and its role in the development of the industry.

Our report covers two categories of benefits:

• Direct benefits are those that are associated with the activity that is generated by the grant. Direct benefits can be associated with a particular production.
• Indirect benefits are those benefits that are associated with the screen sector, but are not directly associated with a particular NZSPG production.
